The climate is tropical along the coast, temperate inland, arid in the south. Weather dominates the winds south-east trade, which originate in the Indian Ocean anticyclone, a central high pressure that seasonally change their position over the ocean. Madagascar has two seasons: hot, rainy season from November to April, and cooler, dry season from May to October.
